Meet Belle Lundon

Updated: Oct 13, 2023

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Belle Lundon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Belle, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I have had a passion for music and singing since the age of two years old. I was invited to sing a song onstage and I did not shy away whatsoever! This experience was the beginning of an ongoing tradition singing at the end of service every Sunday. I loved every moment of it! By the time I was five years old, I saw a little girl who was close in age on “The Cosby Show”. I ran to my mother in the kitchen and asked how can I be on the show too! She told me that would be the occupation of an “actor”. I asked my mom if I could do what this child actress did, but she said she didn’t know how to do this. I cried.

This did not stop me, I tried to convince my mom that I was serious by re-enacting the same scenes I saw from that show. I would constantly perform for my family until FINALLY my mom began researching acting agency’s.

One agency booked me a performance in musicals such as The Jungle Book at a place called Fame City in Texas every Saturday.

Ironically, I later landed a role alongside the very actress who inspired me; where I played her best friend in a Lifetime film!

As I got older, I still sung at different venues & open mics. I competed in a talent show called, Fashion Rock. I ended up being the first contestant to win both the singing and acting category. When I got my list back of agencies interested, I did not have any knowledge of which agency to join. Some of the most prominent agencies in LA wanted to sign me, but unfortunately, I did not reach out to them.

Instead, I continued to work independently by constantly writing songs and being in the studio whenever I could afford it. This work ethic carried over into acting, as I attended CalArts & The Sanford Meisner Studio.

Although I have not reached the desired level of success yet, I’m enjoying the journey! Just being in this magazine may attract other creatives to reach out to me; or this article may inspire someone reading to never give up if you feel like it is a passion that is a part of your soul! Either way, this is an exciting moment for me!!

Also I’m currently in competition and would the support of readers, by voting for me to open for major artists

Belle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. I feel like my hometown is full of culture and it was instilled in me at an early age. I also lived in Houston as an adult. Houston has given me so many stages to perform on such as House Of Blues, Avant Garden, and TSU college. I am so grateful for the opportunities presented to me in the past. I also joined Pastorini & Bosby Talent agency in Houston, whom have stayed loyal to me for many years! My family, friends and fans have always encouraged me to keep grinding. I continue to work as much as possible through gigs that will provide compensation to invest in my aspirations. I did a lot of open mics but it pays off when you are invited back as a paid performer!

I am most proud of my inability to quit despite naysayers or even sometimes my own insecurities that pop in my head at times! I know for a fact this is what I was meant to do! I want my fans to know that you don’t have to come from an influential family, or related to anyone in the industry, or compromise yourself in any way to achieve your dream. There were so many moments in my life I had to walk away from contracts or deals because of circumstances that would not make me feel good about myself. I also believe in being spiritual. Talking to God, journaling, investing in your mental/physical health are all important.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative?

Singing, songwriting and acting all give me fulfillment and enriches my life immensely.

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is meeting your fans! When I’m told how a song has impacted their life, it almost brings me to tears. It brings me back to the very moment of the place I was in when writing those lyrics. It is an amazing feeling!

When I’m on stage or on set, I love the feeling of being completely immersed in the character. My next film called, The Other Side of Infinity, will be out in theaters soon. In the storyline, an asteroid hits the sun. I portray a woman aged 19 to 79 years old. It is a gripping film that depicts what individuals choose to do, knowing there is only 6 hours left to live!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey. I was once asked to have a song I wrote to be licensed in a horror film. The director also “threw in” an extra role because he wanted me in the film as well. When I arrived to my trailer, there were no clothes. Turns out, it was because it was full nudity scene. The only thing covering my body would be white powdered makeup to look like a naked ghost in the film. I told the director I was not willing to do the extra role by giving a polite “no thank you”. In return, I was told that my song would not be in the film. I was quite desperate to have a successful breakthrough by having my song heard in all movie theaters across America. However, I didn’t feel it was fair for me being forced to be an extra, when all I wanted was to have my song in the film. Needless to say, I walked away from the project. Given my past experiences, I learned early, there is no real short cut to success. Patience combined with hard work is key! Contact Info:
