How would you classify your music?

I would classify my music as: Pop/indie R&B

Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?

My top musical influences are: Grace Jones, Tina Turner, Sarah Vaughn, Micheal Jackson & Patti LaBelle

What do you want fans to take from your music?

I want my fans to take away the lessons I’ve learned and hopefully they can make their own decisions based on what I’ve been through.

How’s the music scene in your locale?

Houston is bustling with music from the deep bass of hip hop as well as the chopped and screwed culture. I grew up hearing live instrumentation in the French quarters as I grew up in New Orleans. Because I grew up in both cities for equal parts of my life, these cities have influenced my sound even to this day.

Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?

My Soul to Keep will always be special to me because that was the day I called out to God on my knees for help in a song. I started off singing gospel music in the church. In fact, I will always sing gospel music throughout my career. Nothing tends to get me more connected to music more than gospel music.

How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?

My experiences in life keep me evolving. Everyday I wake up & I look for lessons from God, and I’m on guard against evil. I don’t come from a place where anything was handed to me. So I live on a daily basis, dependent on where God leads me. Because of this, I’m constantly improving and changing in ways that hopefully show growth.

If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive), who would it be?

If I could meet anyone dead or alive that is in relation to music…it would be a family relative I once heard about named Larry Williams. I heard he’s a distant cousin who used to be with Motown Records. He’s the only musical person that I know of in my family tree. I heard he used to travel with Lil Richard on tour. I’m sure he would give me all the knowledge I need to know going into the music industry. He also wrote a hit song called Bony Maronie; I’d like to know who that person was to him too.

What’s next for you?

I’m shooting a new film in the summer, releasing more music, and gearing up for a string of live shows, starting March 2024. My most recent film made it to the Cannes Film Festival in May called, Other Side of Infinity. I also plan to release the remix to Space Cadet. If you listen closely to the song, it speaks about God and overcoming any struggles you face. More than anything, I want my music to encourage people.
